I like this video pretty much. “Candy” created by Katy Towell and the music by Kevin Macleod. This is a story about Halloween and the style of this movie is creepy. I think the main topic of this movie is that Halloween without candy is a dangerous affairs, especially in western cultural.The main colors of this movie are black, gray white and orange. The main character is a girl who has a pair of strange eyes. The movie is beginning with a creepy music, and then doorbell rang. The main color of outside background is orange, and as the women who open the door looks downside. The camera change view to a little girl who wears an angel suit. This little girl with a Jack-o'-lantern, and she wants some Halloween candies. She rejected by the adults, and her emotion is from disappointment to angry. The movie is end of the closed door damaged her eyes and she pick up her eyes from the floor.
I just consider what makes this movie creepy. First: The color is one of the main elements. Orange is the color of Jack-o'-lantern, and Jack-o'-lantern is the symbol of Halloween. This color in this movie could make audiences have a lot of horrible imagination. Also this color is so fresh than with black and grey. Second: The design of the main character, the girl with a pair of strange eyes, one of them is the twice of another, and she wears a white angel suit, when I see her, I just could image a death angel. How odd. Third: the closed door damaged her eyes and she just picks it up, no squealing, this is so creepy.
This is the title sequences of supernatural from season 1 to 6. I watched first 4 seasons and I like it pretty. Supernatural is about two brother fight with the demons which vampires ghost and some monsters in bible. I think super natural is a cyclopedia of religion. We could know a lot of western cultural from it.
In my point of view, the design of title sequence for supernatural is pretty suitable for its content. In the music side, this title sequence did not use any music, but the voice of demon and the sounds of heartbeat are instead of music. This may create a realistic feeling for audiences and this is better than any other creepy songs for this movie. We could notice that in the very beginning, when the word “supernatural” appears in the screen, it looks like the word interfere by electromagnetic. In the legend, there should be electromagnetic interference when demon is nearby. Also the fire and the blood could transfer a scary feeling for audiences. However, people still want to conquer the fear and continue watching this movie. This is the most successful part of the design of this title sequence. This is an animated Bauhaus poster, and this poster with a very simple style. I have to say it’s a nice work. Bauhaus is a design school which existed in Germany before world war two. I also see a lot of other design work of this school; generally speaking, the design works are sample but pay more attrition on usability.
In this video, the different geometry appear in the screen and finally make up Bauhaus’ logo. The logo is looks so cute, like a little boy but just have a normal leg, the other leg is a hook. Also the word “Bauhaus” is on the top of the little boy just like a hat. I like the design very much. Also the most interesting which attract me is the sounds of this video. It sounds like an old machine; I just consider something like that some worker rebuild a old machine or some children play with old toy bricks.
I think this is a commercial one for the phone game, angry bird. I love it, it’s so cute and the clue for this story is clear and reasonable. Everything looks like in hand painting. Three bird which are red yellow and blue encircle three eggs and jump. They looks so happy and exciting, they are waiting their little babies come out. At the same time, there are three green pigs nearby, the king of pigs want to get the eggs from the birds. The found an opportunity when the birds kill a mosquito and take the eggs on the fire. The three birds found them and a fight begin.
It’s a colorful video, nearly everything have its own color, even the three pigs all in green, you still can find the difference in their face, such like golden crown or purple eye bags. The colors not only supply a fresh feeling for audience but also give the character their own personalities. The music for this commercial video is so cute and much suitable for this game. At the end of this video, the author gives two kinds of phone name which could play this game. I think if someone is really like this kind of cute game and have iphone or Nokia N900 will visit this game.This work is based on Piet Mondrian’s art work. This is a simple work but hold Mondrian’s art style exactly. Mondrian is a great artist, and he evolved a non-representational form which he termed Neo-plasticism. This motion graphic change the camera view and rotating the light to rebuild Mondrian’s art work, and the color and black vertical and horizontal still exist in this creator’s work. This is really interesting.
This video is consisting by words and a male’s voice. This work is from a Graphic designers view to criticize the pseudoscience “intelligent design”. And in the middle part this video argues about evolution. Actually, I do not interesting about this argument. But for the design part I like it. The main colors of this video are black grey and blue. All of them are feeling quiet; give audiences some room to consider the things they said. The words always like written on a transparent box, the author just rotating the boxes. I never try this technique before, but it’s cool.
This is a work about vendetta and it’s a film title which is created by after effect. The background is black color. And the words with red color are appearing in the center of the screen and shaking. The feeling of tension is created. The thing I like most is the sounds with the words in the special point are exactly in the same time. And when the red rose falling down in the red liquid. This is breaking the monotone of black. It’s nice.
This is a very simple motion graphic which created by after effects CS3. From the basic information which the author give, I know the blog post about the YouTube/Guggenheim””play” Biennial. Also I know this poem written and read by Kenneth Koch. “Social life, with friend” is a very simple one, because it consisted by world which in different sides and the main colors of this graphic are white black and red. I think he main thing is about time is limited to do everything. At the very beginning the “a social life with friends and a passionate love life and work everyday” have been typed on the screen with black color. Then a watch which pointer is red is appear in the screen, and point out those there things you may have two but never may have there. This is very true I think. And the author use this kind of simple way to describe these things and make it very clear. That is why I like it.
This is a nice work about a wonderful sketchbook journey. Also it likes a description about how to create a wonderful sketch. This video is beginning with a blank piece of paper. And then the painting animation is beginning with a chain’s movement. The chain is end by some arrows, and then birds are flying outside form a circle to a growing forest. Finally the painting is finish and the view is back to the sketchbook.
The color of this video is sample, black and white are the main color. This is suitable to describe a drawing story. Like a painter consider how to create a painting work and then use pencils to point out their ideas.
The author of this title sequence, Bodgejob, said that the inspiration of this work is from the novel Life of Pi. Also they said this is a part if their uni project. I will divided this work to four parts and describe my point of views. The first part is the first 15seconds. Generally speaking when we watch a film in cinema, the first part is logo of the film company. The creator also made a personal logo for this title sequence. This part made this work more likely a real and professional one. The second part is until 1mins and 08 seconds. In this part, the background is a quiescence orange color. The wine color leaves growing in sequence, also the white color for the words which gives some creator information. The third part is until 1:14, in this part the background and words change to black color, and the wine color leaves still growing. The forth part is from 1:14 to the end of this work. In this part, we could see tiger, hyena and zebra. The problem is that I did not realize the first animal is a tiger, at the beginning I considered that is a zebra. From this part I just realized this is a story related to animals in wild and I am interested about the whole story and find it on Wikipedia. I found this is a story about a Indian boy and a tiger live on the ocean and I see this title sequence again and found the fist animal is a tiger. But all in all I still think this is a nice work.
